Pleasant Breaks in Green Surroundings

Parkmuseerne is Copenhagen’s green museum district, located right in the heart of the city next to Nørreport Station. Here, you find six prominent museums, all within walking distance from each other.

In between your museum visits, you can take a break in the museums' tranquil green setting and enjoy the lovely vistas and the changing seasons of the three surrounding historic parks.

The King’s Garden

Originally established by Christian IV in the 17th century, the King’s Garden is now one of the all-time favourites of Copenhagen residents – especially on summer days. This is also where you will find Rosenborg Castle.

The garden is part of the Natural History Museum Denmark and contains Denmark's largest collection of living plants, also tropical ones, which you can enjoy in the Palm House.

Østre Anlæg

Brimming with wild herbs, perennials, grasses and rich wildlife, the park is a green oasis in the middle of the buzzing city. This is where you will find the Hirschsprung Collection and SMK – National Gallery of Denmark.
